A place. A history. A purpose.

There is only one place in the world where a pipe organ can truly do justice to the Couperin legacy: Chaumes-en-Brie, their birthplace.

This project does not aim to reconstruct the past, but to create a living, open and lasting instrument, designed for the musicians of today and tomorrow.

An organ that does not celebrate memory: it brings it to life.

What will make this organ unique

An instrument designed by musicians and experts, for musicians, in a spirit of sharing and transmission.

4 manuals

Including a Resonance division, playable by hand and foot — an extreme rarity in France and Europe.

Inner Positive as echo

A distinct fourth sound plane, hidden within the case — a rare design in France, creating dialogues impossible elsewhere.

Keyboard-playable accessories

Nightingale, birds, carillon playable melodically with the fingers — a first of its kind.

A builder of excellence

The project will be entrusted to an organ builder selected through a public consultation, guaranteeing authenticity and craftsmanship of the highest order.

Open to all

Democratic access: professionals and passionate amateurs alike may come and play, without exclusivity.

An organ of colours

Repertoire from the 14th to the 19th century: Couperin, Bach, Frescobaldi, Cabezón, Handel... Five centuries of music on a single instrument.

Designed for listening and broadcasting

Professional audio capture, digital broadcasting and technical conditions planned from the design stage.

A composition conceived for five centuries of music.
